The flexible Wessex RMX 500 mower and New Holland T5 tractor are a winning combination.
The well-established grounds maintenance contractor has over 28 years in the landscaping business. Based just north of Evesham, close to the village of Salford Priors, their reach stretches throughout Worcestershire, Warwickshire and even down into Gloucestershire.
Limebridge was established over seventy years ago in 1952 as a plant nursery; and in time has been transformed from a horticultural business with a retail space into a service-based mobile company. Now, with a team of nine dedicated staff, the business has evolved into a substantial grounds specialist company: offering contract and one-off soft landscaping and maintenance throughout the South Midlands.
Director and Works Manager Kevin James has been with the family business since leaving school. We caught up with Kevin during a brief break after mowing a field with one of his New Holland T5’s and a new Wessex RMX 500 mower, to ask how the Wessex mower is supporting his business.
Kevin said “I’m very happy with the Wessex RMX 500. I’ve just stopped at the side of a newly mowed field and the finish it left is fantastic. We went to Wessex to get a reliably good finish but there were other reasons it works well for us too:
Limebridge are amenity contractors, so we work with sports grounds, stately homes and other amenities and travel from site to site a lot. In an average day we will be going between seven or eight locations so moving the mower is a big issue for us. The Wessex RMX 500 folds up nicely and tightly on the tractor, making it easy to transport on the road. The other big plus for the Wessex mower is how easily we can change the cutting height. One minute we might be working on a cricket field that needs cutting at 12 millimeters and straight after we might be on a sports field with a cutting height of 30 millimeters. The Wessex copes well with the different heights and is easy to alter, which saves us time on the job”.

We’ve just been called into Ragley estate after their game fair over the weekend to tidy up the grounds and repair crowd damage. At Ragley we direct-drilled seeds straight into their existing park land to rejuvenate whilst still in use. We also aerate and de-compact sports fields if needed”.
