Despite unseasonably cloudy weather in early September, the Jensen stand at the Confor Woodland show was a centre of attention for visitors eager to learn more about Jensen – the original chipper brand with a 135-year pedigree.
Held every two years on the Longleat Estate, the Confor Woodland show is a popular trade event for professionals in the woodland and forestry management sector. The spectrum of interest this year was broad, with visitors ranging from local authorities to arboricultural specialists.
“We had a very strong enquiry from a large county council who are looking for long life and reliability in the machines available to their environmental teams,” says Jensen UK manager Bill Johnston. “But one of the most interesting conversations was with members of the estate maintenance team from a historic hertiage property near Bath. They have a need for a quality chipper capable of handling waste from the formal gardens where smaller chippings are required, as well as larger loppings and prunings from the surrounding estate and woodland where coarser chippings are more desirable. We were able to demonstrate how the versatility of Jensen chippers could match all their requirements.”
The German-built Jensen range comprises the very popular road-towable chippers, tracked chippers which can operate on slopes up to 30° making them eminently suitable for highway or railway work, as well as PTO chippers for use with tractors or other vehicles with a power take-off.
