After working to supply Groundcare customers with the right spare parts for many years, Dan is loving the opportunity to match the perfect T H WHITE Groundcare machine to every new customer with his move to sales.
Dan originally joined T H WHITE 16 years ago on Nov 18th 2008, working in the Redditch parts department as a parts advisor, then progressing in Jan 2014 to parts manager and moved when the depot moved to Stourport in March 2022. Then in Dec 2022 he shifted over to join Groundcare aftersales, managing parts for all three T H WHITE Groundcare depots and finally he moved into Groundcare sales on the 1st Sept 2024.
In his new role, Dan will be offering clients and prospects the full range of T H WHITE Groundcare machinery, attachments and parts; in his territory shared with Simon Clements covering the West Midlands and including Birmingham, Warwickshire and Coventry.
Dan says of his move from the parts department into sales ” The thought of a new challenge was really appealing and I wanted to get closer to the machinery side of the business rather than the parts I suppose.” He continues ” It felt like I’ve been talking about machinery for so many years in my role when selling parts, I wanted to get a better understanding of the machines these parts were going into. I also wanted to meet all the people I’ve been talking to on the phone while discussing their spare parts for all these years!”
Now happily settled into the sales team, he is delighted to get out into the field and have those meetings with T H WHITE’s customers. He continues; “There’s a lot more people interaction in sales and its great to see the machinery in use in the environment, I’ve been learning a lot from how our customers make use of the machines”.
“Recently I took a Ventrac 4520Y out to a city council who had been having trouble with wet ground. The Ventrac is almost like a little tractor but with eight wheels. It has a super-wide range of 39 attachments that includes everything from snow ploughs, game pitch care and even a stump grinder! I took that to large city council who had a problem with a road verge on an A road. The verge has been so muddy, they’d left it all year because the ground conditions were too difficult to cut the grass after our wettest summer on record. However the Ventrac coped with it beautifully and cut it as if it was dry! The council were so impressed they immediately borrowed the demo machine with a view to buying their own”.
“So far I’m really enjoying sales! It’s been a great experience to make customers happy when we supply them with our products and although I’ve been selling since the start of September and I’ve met many customers; I haven’t found a single one who isn’t impressed with our machines and our customer support and service. I know I’ve got lots to learn. But I also know T H WHITE supply a fantastic range of reliable, practical machines and I feel confident to recommend our range to a customer – and with my background I can offer tips on how to maintain it to ensure they get the best from their machine in future”.
