On Tuesday 5 July the NFU and T H WHITE’s Marlborough branch hosted an information event for members to help spread the message about good farm safety practices as part of ‘Farm Safety Awareness Week’.
Over 30 farmers enjoyed an informal hog roast before visiting a series of stands and displays which showcased common risks, new safety features, and risk mitigation tools.
There were also presentations from Wilts Fire & Rescue (large animal rescue, fire safety); Scottish and Southern Electricity (overhead and underground lines); NFU Mutual Risk Management Services; Lackham College; NFU Farm Safely Campaign; and Kevin Short,T H WHITE Health & Safety Manager
The event was co-ordinated by Andi Witcombe, NFU County Adviser for Wiltshire, and Simon Bullock, T H WHITE Service Manager.
Simon said: “Farm safety is of paramount importance to us and we welcome this opportunity to spread key messages in conjunction with other partners who support the agricultural industry.”
