Jake Betteridge has been in post as a Sales Representative with T H WHITE Pro Agri in Stockbridge for almost six months now – and is relishing the challenge of his new career choice.
Jake’s previous role was within the service department of a neighbouring dealer, looking after warranty claims and aftersales requirements. ‘I’m well and truly on the other side of the fence in my new role – I used to have customers come to me, but now I’m the one on the road, chasing customer sales’ he smiles. ‘Fundamentally, it’s all about building new relationships and that’s something I’ve always enjoyed doing’.
In fact, life on the road has been a great learning experience for Jake so far – attending the recent LAMMA show with the sales team was a notable highlight and he’s already looking forward to next year’s show. ‘It was a real eye-opener’, he says. ‘A great way to meet existing customers as well as potential buyers – getting to know “who’s who” and seeing first-hand what makes this side of the industry tick.’
Product demos have also proven to be a highly informative experience for Jake. ‘Seeing the new Case IH Axial-Flow 250 Series combine and MacDon FD2 header in action over the summer was another excellent introduction to an array of fantastic product’, he comments.‘ And I’m certainly looking forward to seeing some of my customers sitting comfortably in Red Power machines over the next few months – with a few more product demos in the pipeline for later this year.’
Jake lives on the outskirts of Collingbourne and enjoys taking his Husqvana TE 300 Enduro bike across Salisbury Plain at the weekends, as well as walking his 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer.
