We are excited to introduce Harleigh Whitford, who recently joined our team as Electrical Sales Manager. With a strong background in the electrical industry and a passion for advancing EV infrastructure, Harleigh brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the team.
A Journey to T H WHITE
After beginning his electrical apprenticeship in 2013, Harleigh quickly progressed, becoming a qualified electrician by 2017. He joined T H WHITE Energy, Fire & Security (EFS) in July 2018 and moved through the ranks to become an approved electrician by 2022. His time at EFS gave him invaluable experience in the field, but he felt the need to explore a new career direction while still utilising his electrical expertise. The opportunity to work within EV infrastructure and expand his career made joining us a natural fit.
Reflecting on what drew him to this new role, Harleigh shared, “T H WHITE is a reputable name, and having worked within EFS for the past six years, transitioning into a role focused on pushing the EV network forward felt like an ideal move.”
Thriving in the Role
What excites Harleigh the most about his new role is the opportunity to connect with different clients and charge point operators (CPOs), opening new avenues for work. The rapid growth of the EV industry fuels his drive as he plays a part in its rollout and development. He sees his role as pivotal to the team’s success, stating, “I hope to sell more electrical jobs and keep the Energy team busy, all while providing a turnkey solution to EV infrastructure and contributing to Net Zero goals.”
Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Learning
Starting in a new field always comes with its share of challenges. For Harleigh, one of the initial hurdles was regaining his computing skills after being out of practice since his school days. But what stood out most was the depth of the sales role and the meticulousness required for surveying and pricing jobs—a learning moment that highlighted the importance of thoroughness in the industry.
A Culture of Collaboration and Growth
Since joining the team, Harleigh has been impressed by the collaborative and innovative culture at the company. “The company prioritises professional growth, with regular training sessions and clear pathways for career advancement,” he notes. He’s also seen key values like teamwork, customer focus and reliability in action throughout the office.
Looking Forward
Professionally, Harleigh aims to continue building relationships with clients, honing his communication skills, and advancing his knowledge within the EV and renewable energy industry. As someone new to sales, he’s eager to expand his skills in this area and make an impact by bringing in large electrical projects that keep the Energy Team busy.
One of his proudest achievements to date has been contributing to EV projects across the UK, including bus chargers in London and installations at over 30 fire stations in Cornwall. Onboarding T H WHITE Energy, Fire & Security with CPOs like Zest, Compleo and CityEV has been a career highlight and he’s excited to build on these successes moving forward.
Looking ahead, Harleigh aspires to become a highly successful sales manager, broadening his expertise and keeping the Energy team thriving. With his dedication and drive, we’re confident he will continue to make great strides within the company.
Please join us in welcoming Harleigh to the team!
