Errol Cook, well known to many customers of T H WHITE Projects, celebrated his retirement on 16 February at a surprise event held at the Group office in Devizes.
Upon reaching his 65th birthday, having given 31 years loyal and committed service to T H WHITE and its agricultural customers, it was finally time for Errol to hand in his keys. He was presented with a large card full of messages from his work colleagues and a gold wrist watch to remind him of T H WHITE. For Errol’s wife Gill, there was a bouquet of flowers.
Errol started with the company in 1985 and, apart from a year away in 1989 has been ever present since, having moved down from Marlborough to Devizes with the team and built some strong relationships while establishing himself as a very trusted and admired individual for whom no job was too difficult. His ever-present smile and sense of humour, as well as his willingness to tackle the day-to-day challenges soon earned him the tag of the ‘go-to man’ for grain store breakdowns and maintenance – with his knowledge and experience the solution to the problem was never far away!
More than 50 work colleagues and friends attended the event and enjoyed an excellent buffet – it was a great send off for a highly valued member of the team. Errol will be missed by everyone who knows him in the business and we all join in wishing both Errol and Gill a long, healthy and enjoyable retirement together.
