Recently T H WHITE EFS Service Manager Jason Hawes spoke with new service technician Robert Powell Mantle to find out how he has settled in since joining the business last year.

What is your favourite thing about working at T H WHITE?

My favourite thing about the company is the team because anytime I need support or just a chat, they are always available even if they are flat-out busy themselves.

Tell us about your job and what it entails? 

My job role is in the Energy, Fire and Security division of T H WHITE. Everyday I visit a wide variety of sites – these consist of domestic homes, commercial premises, schools and anything that has 4 walls. I carry out services on security, fire, CCTV, emergency lights, door access and everything in between.

How did you get into your role at T H WHITE?

I secured the job role at T H WHITE after speaking with an engineer.  We were both working on the same site and luckily, we got chatting about me looking for a new career and fresh start. His name was Steve Little and he explained that there was a position available and that I should throw my hat into the ring.  Even though I didn’t have all the relevant experience, Steve let me know that T H WHITE would train me. I am glad I did because there is so much to learn and great support from the team and business.

What motivates you to come to work each day?

I think what motivates me to come to work each day are the customers.  Not only have they been with T H WHITE for years, but they are also so welcoming, I’m never short of coffee and cakes. Also, because I’m still new to the sector there is a lot to learn, so every day is a school day, which I love.

Looking back at your first day at T H WHITE what advice would you give yourself based on your experience?

I wish I had made the move sooner, even though a change in career can be scary I haven’t regretted my decision at all.
